The water cycle is a constant process that goes around the Earth.

First it starts at the sea and because the sun is so hot, water turns into gas and starts to rise into the sky. This is called evaporation. Then it turns into water vapour and turns itself into a fluffy cloud because the temperature is so cold. This is called condensation. After that it could rain, snow, hail or rain sleet. This is a process is called precipitation. After it rains trees will absorb the water and use it to grow. This is called transpiration.

The water cycle can happen with lakes, rivers or ponds on hot days. The water cycle is a nonstop process around the earth.
