Dear Parents / Caregivers

Our School Cross Country will be held on Friday 12th August (saving day Monday 15th August).  We will begin with the Junior School at 11.00 a.m. followed by the Middle and Senior School commencing at 1.15 p.m. Order of races for Middle and Senior School will be as follows:

Year 3 Girls, Year 3 Boys, Year 4 Girls, Year 4 Boys, Year 5 Girls, Year 5 Boys, Year 6 Girls, Year 6 Boys. The Year 3 students will read in the library after their event so the day is not too long for them.

All children will be required to bring their PE shorts, top, sneakers and their school sweater to put on afterwards. They will also be required to bring a bottle filled with water that can be placed at their station.  If the day is fine, the children will assemble in their whanau teams on the astro turf and parents will sit in the bays outside the classrooms. If the day is damp, the students will sit in the bays near the office and parents will shelter under the bays near the library.

The Inter School Cross Country teams will be made up of one team for each Year 4, 5 and 6 Girls and Boys (6 teams in total).  Students who finish 1st-6th in the Cross Country will be part of the team as well as 2 other students who will be selected by teachers. The two additional students will be those who have shown determination, sportsmanship and have participated in extra trainings provided by the school.

Extra training: School Grounds: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8am, meet at the school rotunda. Please wear sports gear including sneakers.

During the week prior to the Cross Country we will be walking the Middle and Senior students out of the school grounds and around the course. We will be doing a letterbox drop to inform the local community of the actual Cross Country.

We would appreciate the help of parents who could assist us at stations around the course.

Please complete the google form giving your permission and also indicate if you can help.
