Yesterday I went to the Tread Lightly Caravan to learn how to care about nature and to save energy. First we got into groups. Then our groups went to different activities. My group started in station one. There we learned about what to put in the recycling bins. Next station we learnt about how to save energy and what light bulbs are more efficient. Then at number three we got told about what goes down our drains, from polluters. The next station was in the caravan, number four. There we had a microscope and eleven dead bugs that we got to look at. Then at number five there was a touchscreen where we answered some questions about our life. If everyone lived like me there would have to be one point eight worlds. The lucky last station was number six. There was a computer there, where we had to choose a day (my day was Monday). We wrote where we lived and where we usually go and how we get there. I wrote school and walk, everybody else did the same. If everybody in the world did the same it would heat up by one point one degrees.

We all chose a pledge and got our photo taken while we were holding the pledge. The pledge I chose was ‘Wash your clothes in cold water’. But I didn’t know that I already did that. The meaning of that pledge is to save energy because hot water costs more money because it needs to be heated up. Zack took the same one.

If we had to move to another planet, our class decided the top ten essentials are water, food, oxygen, medicine, seeds, wood, animals, tools, clothes and toiletries. We chose those because without them we would not survive. Wood is very useful because it can be used for building, heat and light, seeds because then we can grow crops and then we can breathe when our oxygen runs out.
