There are many types of lightning such as fork lightning which splits like a fork.  It’s one of common types in New Zealand.  New Zealand doesn’t have as much lightning as other countries.

Negative and positive charges cause lighting. The positive and negative touch together.  BANG.
Being safe around lightning is very important because it is dangerous. You never go in the water and next to a tree.  Merely stay inside your home.
