Dance Festival

On the 8 and 9 of August Buckland Beach middle school girls dance group went to Elim College to perform our routine in the Dance Festival, with other local schools.

BBPS danced 2nd in the first half. We danced to “I feel better when I’m dancing” by Meghan Trainor. Being on the stage with all the lights and music was very cool, we all had fun and wanted to do it again!

After our performance we had the opportunity to watch the other dance groups.

The other schools did really well.

Thank you Mrs Rist for teaching us our routine and organising our costumes, you taught us well.

I hope to be a part of this Dance Festival again. We all were very nervous and excited at the same time. We thought that all of the other dances were great but we think that we were the best out of them all. We were all very nervous about it but when we all danced we all found our courage to dance in front of the Principal and all of our parents.

The dance that we did was hard to learn at first and then we got the hang of it. Thank you to all the parents that  that came to watch us and support us. In our little room we were putting our lovely bows on and we had to have a high ponytail because otherwise we wouldn’t see our bow. Next we had to have our skirt checked and then we had to have our pom pom’s ready for our dance.

The dance was fun and exciting so we thank you for making it possible and exciting for us Mrs Rist. We didn’t know that we were actually learning while dancing because we were learning the dance step by step.

Thank Mrs Rist and Mrs Trotter for teaching us.

Dance Festival

By Layla, Demia, and Lexie
On Monday the 8th and Tuesday the 9th of August, the senior dance group of Bucklands Beach Primary performed their dance, ‘Right Here, Right Now’ to over 300 people at Elim College. They all got dressed into some amazing costumes for both the nights, lent to them from Jayes Dance studio. When they all walked on stage for the first time at Elim, they all felt really nervous, but their dance teacher, ( Mrs. Rebecca Trotter ) said that when they get into it they would start having fun, and they did. Before and after the senior dance group performed, they stayed in the school chapel where you could watch the other schools perform. There were more than 10 schools performing to their families, friends and other people. At the end, they felt the enlightening sensation of satisfaction, because they knew that they did a good job of dancing, and did their parents and school proud.
