Life in the terrible trenches
It’s deadly,
It’s dull,
It’s dangerous

The horrible heavy gunfire
Screams past the sweaty soldiers

Wanting to find a way to wisely get home
Dying diggers
Killed kiwis
Lying lifeless on the ground

The dirty ditches
Become foul and flooded
It’s not a good place to be.
