Koanga Festival

17 September 2016

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Your child has been participating in the Kapa Haka group at school and we are now practising very hard for our performance at the Koanga Festival in September.

The Koanga Festival is a performance of the Kapa Haka groups of schools in our area and is a spectacular event showcasing dance and music.

This year the Koanga Festival will be held on Saturday 17 September at Bucklands Beach Intermediate. We will perform on the stage at 12pm and the students are required to be at their assigned classroom by 11.25am. Our performance will be over by 12.40pm but performers and whanau will be welcome to stay and watch other schools’ performances.

The students have put in many hours of practise with many still to come. So that the students are able to practice as a group, would you please complete the form below making a commitment that your child will be available to perform on the day and that you will be able to transport your child to and from the venue. If transport might be an issue on the day, please speak to one of the Kapa Haka teachers. We will do what we can to ensure all our Kapa Haka members are able to perform.

Further details regarding  costumes and classrooms for changing etc will be finalised later in the term.

Ngā mihi
