This afternoon the Robotics Group met at school to talk to students in a class in Nanjing to ask them how their country recycles e-waste – old computers, tablets and printers.  The Chinese students were in class with their English teacher and had the opportunity to practise speaking English.  The Chinese students had drawn flowcharts to show how e-waste materials should be recycled.  Our students were gathering data for their First Lego League Competition, “Trash Trek” which they present in September.  We communicated over Skype.

Present was a reporter for “The Chinese Herald”, a newspaper published in New Zealand for Chinese speakers. She took an interest and photographs of our robot and the challenge missions that we have already accomplished.  We are hopeful that our story is published.
