General business/other matters:

 Executive committee positions

The PTA Chairperson/persons role still remains vacant.

Autumn Festival

Jessica Zhou reported back to the PTA that they have 26 helpers for helping to teach and make dumplings. They still need 3-4 more helpers per class. Class reps will be asked to email for more helpers for the following days between 10am – and 12.30pm

Junior school – Monday 25th September

Senior school – Tuesday 26th September

Middle school – Wednesday 27th September

Sunscreen

The PTA agreed to supply sunscreen to each classroom before the start of Term 4. Anna to check supply/price and place an order.

Sausage sizzles

The school lunchtime sausage sizzles are a great fundraiser but we still need more helpers. Madeline, Jessica and Jessica’s friend Tadianna have volunteered. Dates for sausage sizzle next term are

7th November

21st November

5th December

Helpers are needed from between 10.30am – 1pm.

The PTA agree to provide the tomato sauce/oil/serviettes/handi towels/tinfoil/tin trays/utensils/BBQ (the school provides the BBQ Gas) and the cooks. The cause, that the fundraiser is for, pays for the sausages and bread from their profit.

School Disco

Disco is going to be on Friday 27th October. Kelly to arrange more details with the student council. They can decide on a theme, design the tickets and decorate the hall. Things that have worked well in the past are – candy floss, glow lights, drinks, popcorn, sausage sizzle and photo booth. Teachers will be asked to help too. Times for each session to be decided. Need to check with Carole (and Nicholas) if they are available to do the music and Wayne (from Skids) to MC the evening.

Howick Santa Parade

A committee was put together to organise the BBPS parade for this event – Philippa, Sarah, Madelein, Jane and Jessica will meet this term to discuss a plan of action. The parade is on Sunday 3rd December. An email will be sent out to the school Week 1 of Term 4 asking people to join the group for the parade. Victoria offered to help on the day. Class Reps will be asked to seek out more helpers.

Plaques

Philippa suggested it would be nice to have a small plaque on the Artificial Playing Surface and the new cricket nets to acknowledge who funded them and in what year. There is one on the rotunda. This would raise the presence and awareness of the PTA and their beneficial involvement in our school community. Also, needed on the plaques was recognition of any outside funding that had been received for the project such as the Auckland Cricket Development Foundation for their grant towards the cricket nets.

Meeting closed:  8.55pm
