All of the Middle School has been so excited about going to the Maritime Museum this week. The Maritime Museum is a museum based on boats and other sea-related artifacts. We visited the museum to learn more about migration.

One really cool thing we found out when we got there was that we were actually sitting and walking on top of the water because the whole museum is on a wharf that is on stilts that are covered in algae and barnacles.  The museum teacher explained to us where we were allowed to go and what we were allowed to touch. The most exciting things were when we raced a boat in the simulator, the wobbly floor of the ship, the cannon that was shot at 12.oopm, spinning the wheel of fortune to find out about people who had migrated to New Zealand, finding objects in the treasure hunt and seeing all of the interesting displays.

We had a very inquisitive day where we found out all sorts of new things and we would recommend that everyone should go to the museum because you will learn lots of new things. The other good thing is that it is free to Aucklanders.

Thank you to all of the parents who came with us, we appreciate your help.
