Trees soak up water through their thirsty roots for food. It flows up their thick trunk to the branches. Then the tree produces green leaves. The sun then comes out and evaporates the water from the trees’ leaves to form fluffy white clouds. This is called transpiration. People cut trees down for their wood. They use the sap in the trunk for medicine to make sick people better.
