Diwali is a great Indian celebration and is celebrated to welcome Lord Rama who has returned from the exile after 14 long years.  In the ancient times there were 2 kings.  One was evil and one was good. The Kings had a major battle and Lord Rama won the battle . It is a time to welcome the Lord with the lamps made with the clay.   Ever since then Diwali is celebrated with loads of lights and fireworks around the world.
