Dear Parents

We are getting close to Year 6 Lakewood Lodge Camp! We are counting down now and really looking forward to our camp from Tuesday 3 May to Friday 6 May.

Just a few reminders:

  • Please forward your camp payment of $320 to the school office prior to camp if you haven’t already done so.
  • Camp parents have been confirmed. Thank you to all who volunteered for this important role. Unfortunately we are very limited in the number of parents we can take, but we appreciate all the interest and offers! Please don’t contact parents going to camp for updates and information about how your child is doing. This puts them in an awkward position as we have asked that during the day you contact school on 5346543 if you need to make contact, or after hours contact Dorothy Bigwood on her mobile 0212433687. We will be in constant contact, and won’t hesitate to contact you personally if necessary.
  • We will be putting a few photos onto the school website http://www.bbps.school.nz/ for everyone to see, however I am setting up a separate password protected section on the website for LOTS of camp photos. I will share the password for this with Year 6 parents only and ask you to respect the privacy of students in photos. I will upload photos to this password protected part of the school website every day so you can see what a fabulous time everyone is having.
  • Children need to be at school by 8.30 am on Tuesday 3 May. Please be ready to collect them from school at 2.30pm on Friday 6 May. We will update the office on traffic, etc and our estimated arrival time back at school.
  • Parents are asked not to consider visiting camp for ‘day trips’. The camp is fully staffed and it can be disruptive/unsettling for children if additional people are coming and going. It defeats the purpose of the camp and visitors haven’t been briefed about protocols and safety. As well, additional charges can be incurred.
  • Thank you all for sending in completed forms with medical and dietary information. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss any content of these forms further.
  • Thank you in advance for all the delicious home baking you are preparing to send to camp! Please would you write ingredients on the container. If your child has allergies, please name their home baking as we will keep this separate rather than putting it in the general pool of baking. Please NO nuts.
