Last week Room 2 did an experiment. Our goal was to get the skewer through a balloon without popping the balloon. The way to get it through the balloon without popping it was to put it through the bottom slowly, then keep pushing up to the top and push it through gently. Lots of people in the class did it and didn’t pop it but some of the other balloons popped. My one popped. The reason the balloons didn’t is that the skewer went through a part that wasn’t inflated as much as the other sides of the balloons so it makes it easier to put the skewer through the balloon and rubber clung to the skewer.
