WOW what a year!! It’ been a big one and we have met our goals and the artificial turf is on target to start this week!  It is very exciting and will dramatically change the top field making it so much more useable all year round.  Thank You school community for assisting us in all our fundraisers because without your support it would just not be possible.  Thank you for putting up your hands to help, for attending events, for selling raffle tickets, chocolates and the like – we made it!!

PTA Raffle

Thank you to everyone who sold their tickets.  The family who won the “most tickets sold” was the Boyes family and runner up was Taylor Gray.  The classes with the highest rate of return of tickets were rooms 5 and 16 – they all enjoyed a delicious ice-block last week!  Well done everyone!

Family Fun Night – rescheduled to Friday 11th March 2016 – Third time lucky!!

Unfortunately we have had to postpone the Family Fun Night twice this year due to the rather unsettled wet weather.  We look forward to seeing the school community attend the evening next year and hope that all the Year 6 students that missed it this year will come back and join us then.  If you had purchase tickets for this event this year these will still be valid on the 11th March.  Please mark this date in your diaries as it will come around quicker than you think!

Santa Parade

A big thank you to the Santa Parade Committee who organised a fabulous parade this year for our school –   46 students paraded in a costume made by each class or by the committee. A great time was had by all and it was wonderful to see the school represented again at such a fun, local event!

Second Hand Clothing

To assist with ‘back to school for 2016’ uniform requirements, the second hand uniform shop will be open on the following dates before Term 1 starts:

Tuesday 19 January from 7-8pm

Thursday 28 January from 7-8pm

The second hand uniform shop runs from the home of the O’Loughlin family at 38A Devon Road, Bucklands Beach.  Please park on the road and walk down the long drive.

The Parenting Place is hoping to offer a 6 week Toolbox parenting Course in 2016.  If you have ever thought about doing this fabulous course now is the time as it will hosted locally at our school.  More details about this in the new year!

Asian Community Invitation

We would love to see more parents from our large Asian community at our PTA meetings.  We wish to celebrate the Chinese New Year in 2016, and other such celebrations, but need guidance from within the cultures.  We have had one parent volunteer to organise the celebration of Chinese New Year and ask for other volunteers to assist her.

Our last PTA newsletter was kindly translated into Mandarin by Crystal Yong and we will continue to do this as we received some great feedback.  Extra copies will be available at the office, online or could be emailed by request at bbpspta@vodafone.co.nz

Next PTA meeting in 2016… Tuesday 9th February at 7.30 (given that the first Tuesday of the month is the first day back to school!)

Please come and join us in 2016.  At our AGM in April there will be positions vacant on our PTA.  If you have ever thought about how rewarding it would be to join this team of people please come and talk to us!  We would love to hear from you!

The PTA would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in 2016!

Once again we would like to thank our wonderful sponsors, from our local community  and beyond.  Please show your thanks by supporting them:
