Meeting Opened: 7.30pm Chaired by Kate Addis

 Present: Kate Addis, Anna Watson, Kelly Slater-Brown (Principal), Philippa Boyes (BOT), Claudette Weir (BOT), Belinda Manion, Ling Mackinnon and Candice Band.

Apologies: Marie Hagen, Cay Scott and Camila Dixon.

Chocolates:

• There are 23 unpaid boxes outstanding. No spares left to sell. We have sent reminder letters out.

Entertainment book: 

• Sold 52 subscriptions. Profit is around $728.

General business/other matters:

 Executive committee positions: 

Old committee finished up tonight. Question was asked if there was anyone interested in standing for any of the executive positions. Ling Mackinnon has given an interest in purely doing the treasurers role. Anna Watson said she is happy to stay on as secretary doing purely recording the minutes and authorising bank payments. Marie has advised that she is boxing up all the treasurer folders and putting it in the PTA room she said she can help train the treasurer up till August. Kelly is to follow up with a few other people that are interested including Tim Woodward who expressed being chair person last meeting. There will be advertising for groups of people to help take on fundraisers as they come about.

Fundraiser suggestions from staff:

Nick Chamberlain has suggested the Auckland kids marathon as a fundraiser and children get sponsored per km.

Kelly suggested a stainless steel drink bottle buying fundraiser.

Belinda suggested an entrepreneur day where kids make things and then sell.

Ideas for term 3 fundraiser is a math-a-thon with the quiz being middle of term 3.

Abacus Calendars are to be done later in term 3. Anna is to write up what is involved, and talk to the contact at Abacus to see if there is an online ordering option.

Kelly said she will organise the disco in term 4 with the student council.

Money for school

The board has asked for $7000 for cricket nets and $28,000 for the school to be used at a later date for building work. Anna and Marie to transfer to school bank account.
