Netball
At Bucklands Beach Primary there are many opportunities to play netball. There is after school netball, a field day competition and lunchtime games.
The Field Day is a chance for all children in Year 5 and 6 who are interested in netball to play. This year we had four teams in the field day.
During the winter terms some of the parents from our school run netball practice sessions for our students. Students of all ages come to these sessions; they are a great way to learn new skills.
We have a school netball team that competes in the Interschool Netball Competition. Being in this competition is challenging, fun and competitive.
The BBPS netball teams practise twice a week throughout terms 2 & 3. This year,
we entered 2 teams, an A grade and a B grade team to play against other
schools within the Eastern suburbs. It's called the interschool netball
competition. We had 19 students, 14 girls and 5 boys, split into 2 groups which
made 2 very strong teams.
We've had both home and away games to enjoy. The A team had 3 away and 2 home
games. The B team has 3 away and 5 home games.
Although we did not get through to the finals, we still played well in our
matches, learnt as a team and never gave up. We would like to thank the teachers
and all the parents who helped with the transport or supported us through every
game. We hope to inspire some new players who may wish to be future BBPS
netballers.
