Middle & Senior School Cross Country 2018

The Middle and Senior School Cross Country will be held on Friday 29 June. The Year 3 and 4s will be running one lap around the school (Waller Avenue, Gulf Crest and Clovelly Road) and the Year 5 and 6s will be running two laps.

Students in years 4, 5 and 6 who finish in the top six in the cross country will be part of the BBPS HPPA Interschool Cross Country Team, as well as two other students who will be selected at the final discretion of the teachers. The two additional students will be those who have shown determination, sportsmanship and have participated in extra training provided by the school. The team will be announced in week 10.

All students are expected to wear their BBPS sports shirt, with suitable attire for running in including  running shoes. Please make sure all water bottles and school jerseys are clearly labelled.

The start and finish for the races will be on the school field. There will be areas set up to watch that can be accessed from the front entrance of the school.  We request that spectators do not cross the race lanes or bring dogs to school.

While you are waiting for your child’s race, feel free to take the time to visit the Book Fair in the Library Information Centre. The library will be open before and after the cross country.

Parent volunteers: thank you to those who have responded confirming that you are able to assist on the day. Please meet on the astroturf at 12:50pm for a briefing explaining your role. Our aim is for middle school parents to marshal the senior school races, and vice versa to give you the opportunity to watch your child race.  We appreciate your assistance with the cross country.

If the weather turns against us, we have a saving day of Wednesday 4th July at the same time. Postponement information notices will be on the school Facebook page, website and email at 12:30 on the day.

If have any questions that are not answered above, or you are able to help on the day, please email nick@bbps.school.nz

We look forward to seeing you on the day.
