Today Room 3 made Chinese Dumplings as part of their Inquiry Unit Chinese New Year. We are extremely grateful for the help from the Kwong family that made this possible. Jamie’s parents provided ingredients and expertise as they worked with each group. The students each made several dumplings and then were able to cook these on the stove in the lunchroom. Jamie’s Mum provided paper patterns so that our students knew exactly how to fold their wonton wrapper. Our Korean students joined us and also made dumplings. A highlight was having our Principal Mrs Slater-Brown try her hand at making dumplings as well. Ms Crompton recorded our experience. After the dumplings of pork mince were cooked the students ate these as part of their lunch, dipping them in soy sauce.
