School Camp
Year 4 Willow Park
In Year 4 at Bucklands Beach Primary, we go to Willow Park. Willow Park is at Eastern Beach, just down the road from school. Willow Park is great because it has lots of great activities to do.
We played all sorts of games, including indoor soccer, cricket, volleyball, tennis and golf. We also go to go on the scooters, go karts and green machines. A green machine has three wheels but drives like a crazy tricycle. On the green machines we can do big skids, drifts and burnouts. Our favourite activity was riding the green machines!
Our day at Willow Park was fun and we got to learn how to co-operate.

Year 5 Sea Friends
In Year 5, students get to go to Goat Island; it is a really fun experience. The buses leave very early in the morning, before seven o’clock! We all stopped at Burger King for breakfast – very tasty.
At Goat Island every child and parent gets a chance to join in, you can go snorkeling, look at Floor’s brilliant aquarium, look in the rock pools, and find out all about the fish and sea creatures you can find there.
On the trip back lots of us were tired and fell asleep before we had even gone around the first corner. It was very interesting and every student will remember it as a great trip. I am sure Year 4 is looking forward to going to Goat Island next year.

Year 6 Shakespear Lodge Camp
It was a pleasure for the Year 6’s to go to Shakespear Lodge for our school camp. Shakespear Lodge is in the stunning location of Shakespear Bay, Whangaparoa There were so many activities, which we all participated in during the week. We got to explore the park, as a group and when competing in the orienteering challenge. We were challenged by archery, rock climbing, mountain boarding, camp cooking, and bush studies. We also loved our night activities – the night walk, commando crawl and unihoc. The view across to Auckland is spectacular at night. When it came to night activities the students were often as loud as they could be, but eating times was quite different. The students were quiet, as they were so busy eating their delicious food.
Bucklands Beach Primary Year 6 camp is awesome.
