Thank you from us to you…..                                                                                              April 2016

A big ‘thank you’ to you, our school and the wider community, for your support over the last two years – through tireless efforts and your wonderful help, the current PTA has realised the dream of converting the top field into an all-weather, multi-purpose sports surface!  But now it’s time for a change; at the next PTA meeting, on Tuesday 10th May, a new PTA Executive team will be voted in. Please join us in supporting them.

Family Fun Night and Official Sports Surface Opening

A very big thank you to all of you who made this night so enjoyable!  Third time lucky and it was a very successful evening.  Thank you to all of you who helped on the night – cooking, selling, setting up, tidying up, running the games and beauty salon – you know who you are! Special thanks to MP Maurice Williamson for officially opening the surface; to Mamta Vallabh for making the delicious Butter Chicken; to Marina Thai for donating the containers and cooking 10kg of rice for us; to Tomoko Rose and her team for dressing for the occasion and making the lovely sushi; to Bakers Delight for donating the bread for the sausages and buns for the famous bacon butties; to Steffen Kennerley for running around for us before, during and after the event; to our teachers who manned the stalls, supervised our children in the pool and organised and played in the opening netball game on the turf with our students!  What a great night we had!

Doesn’t the multi-purpose sports surface look amazing?? It’s wonderful to see all our children out there enjoying the field and learning new sports skills on it!  We are sorry to report that, due to some undesirable activity on the weekends, we’ve had to lock the fence around the court to protect it.  We love that you love the new space; we’d just ask everyone to please respect the rules of conduct so we can look after the sports surface and continue to enjoy using it.

Hot Cross Bun Fundraiser

A huge thanks to Bakers Delight for supporting our Easter Hot Cross Bun Fundraiser, they were delicious!

Nearly 5 Party

We would like to thank Gail Harrison-Uren and Rachel Ciechowicz for organising the Nearly 5 Party for the last 18 months.  These lovely ladies have decided to take a break, and so a position has become available for two people to organise and host the quarterly Nearly 5 Parties.  The work load is not considerable, and it’s a great way to contribute in a small but essential way to the BBPS Community.  Nearly 5 Parties are hosted once a term and help familiarise new students with the school and their new teacher – a really important role!     Full training and support is offered.  A nice way to contribute to a happy start for our new school children!  If you are interested please contact us on bbpspta@vodafone.co.nz.

Whittakers Chocolates

At the beginning of Week 3 in Term 2 the Whittakers Chocolates (NZ made, top-quality chocolate bars) will be arriving.  This is our big fundraiser for the term!  We know that these chocolates will be very popular and an easy sell.  We kindly ask that each family sells one box of 30 bars (an assortment of 5 top selling flavours) at $2 per bar.  If you can sell more than your one box please email us on bpspta@vodafone.co.nz. If you’d prefer not to participate in selling these chocolates, we’d ask you to consider making a donation of $24 instead.  All money made from this fundraiser goes directly to BBPS to make our school a better place for our children.

The family that sells the most chocolate bars will win a cool Zero Gravity Team Nitro scooter!!

We would like to extend our continued thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors:  The Trusts Community Foundation, The Lion Foundation, Pub Charity Limited, Bakers Delight & Marina Thai

Wishing you and your families a very happy and safe term break!

Rachel, Philippa, Amanda and Liz
